About the team
The Intelligence unit is a highly motivated and specialist team that produces complex and sensitive intelligence products to identify high risk regulatory and criminal activities. As part of NSW Fair Trading, we support investigations, prosecutions, and proactive operations to ensure that the NSW public, businesses, and communities are protected.
The role includes hybrid working arrangements, with a requirement to attend in office once per week at Parramatta and on an as-needed basis.
Your day-to-day
- Lead and deliver complex intelligence and analytics projects to identify high‑risk consumer, business, and compliance activities.
- Produce timely, accurate, and outcome focused intelligence products that support operational and strategic decision‑ makin
- Coach and mentor team members to build capability and support the creation of innovative intelligence solutions.
- Analyse and interpret information using structured, logical, and evidence based‑ methods to generate actionable insights.
- Build and maintain strong partnerships with regulatory and law enforcement‑ agencies, as well as internal stakeholders.
- Provide expert advice to senior leaders on emerging state and national issues that may impact consumer confidence in NSW.
- Contribute to the ongoing improvement of intelligence products to ensure they remain timely, relevant to stakeholders‑, and aligned with organisational goals.

- Appointment and ongoing assignment may be subject to restrictions and the satisfactory participation in mandatory pre-employment and ongoing probity screening, in accordance with relevant Legislation and/or related policies.
Essential requirements
It is a requirement of this role to obtain and hold baseline security clearance. For this purpose you must be an Australian Citizen.
Satisfactory criminal record check.

Salary Grade 9/10, with the base salary for this role starting at 129,464 base plus superannuation
