Position Type: Casual (Up to 38 hours/week)

Salary Range: Base Salary $44.67 per hour + super, plus overtime and penalty rates dependent on work performed. Additional entitlements and overtime do not form part of the advertised base salary

Location: Resource Recovery - 210 Webb Drive, Bohle

These casual positions will assist with and work as part of a team to safely operate waste collection vehicles and provide and deliver an effective waste collection service to our customers.

Duties will include collection, including spillages and if required, conduct minor repairs to waste bins within an allocated collection area and return to that area to service missed bins.

You will ensure all bins within the team’s allocated waste area are serviced, label non-compliant bins and clean and perform minor maintenance to allocated plant and report any faults, breakdowns and accident damage.

Qualifications And Experience

Our ideal candidate will have:

  • HR Licence and the demonstrated ability to operate a waste collection vehicle greater than 11 t but less than 23t GVM
  • Knowledge of servicing, prestart and closedown requirements of the plant to include truck and any attached machinery
  • Basic knowledge of waste collection within Local Government or industry
  • Basic knowledge of the environmental requirements of collecting and transporting waste
  • Sound knowledge of the traffic act and associated legislation relevant to the position
  • Ability to achieve a bin lift rate in line with industry standards with reference to residential and rural areas
  • Required to work on public holidays (appropriate penalty rates will apply) in accordance with the LAA
  • A reasonable amount of overtime is expected to be worked when available (appropriate penalty rates will apply) in accordance with the award
