Senior Payroll Officer

Talented Tribe is partnering with a highly regarded organisation seeking an experienced Senior Payroll Officer to join their team in Canberra.

This is a hands-on payroll role. We're looking for someone who enjoys being in the detail and has extensive experience managing end-to-end payroll functions in a complex environment.

The "Senior" in the title refers to your ability to work independently, interpret complex Enterprise Agreements, provide guidance to others, and confidently manage payroll processing from start to finish. This is not a people management position.

What we're looking for

• Minimum 5 years' experience in end-to-end payroll processing
• Strong Enterprise Agreement (EBA) interpretation experience
• Ability to process payroll from start to finish, including reconciliations, superannuation, PAYG, leave management and reporting
• Experience responding to complex payroll queries and interpreting legislation, awards and employment conditions
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work autonomously
• Advanced payroll knowledge gained within a complex environment

Nice to have

• Certificate IV in Payroll Administration (or similar)
• Experience with Pronto
• Experience supporting audits and payroll process improvement initiatives

Important to note

• This is an onsite Canberra-based role and is not suited to remote or work-from-home arrangements
• Australian Citizenship is required
• Baseline Security Clearance (Ability to obtain and maintain)
• Full-time, permanent role
