Your Role as Manager for our Wheller on the Park Retirement Village

As the Manager for the Wheller on the Park Retirement Village, you will be accountable for the overall leadership, performance, and community outcomes of a retirement village.

Beyond day-to-day management, the role is pivotal in shaping a vibrant, connected community where residents feel supported, valued, and empowered to live independently with dignity. It requires a balanced focus on people, performance, and place — aligning operational delivery with Wesley Mission Queensland’s broader mission and values.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Ensuring that the integrity of the village and the organisation is always maintained.
  • Contributing to work force planning, including the recruitment and selection of village staff.
  • Providing leadership as part of the management team of the retirement village.
  • Creating a vibrant community environment that people want to live in.
  • Supervising contractor inductions and maintaining WHS processes to ensure that ongoing safety of the village and the workplace is maintained.
  • Providing ongoing support to residents to maintain their quality of life and independence.
  • Promoting and contribute to a positive, safe working environment and culture within the retirement villages.
  • Commitment to continuous quality improvement and regulatory management by implementing necessary changes in operations as required.

What We’re Looking For

  • A people-focused leader with knowledge of the Retirement Industry and current legislation.
  • Three years’ experience in a similar managerial role.
  • Exceptional relationship and people management skills and a keen ability to effectively liaise with a variety of key stakeholders.
  • Commercial acumen and the maturity to interact with your residents with respect and empathy.
  • Experience with conflict management and negotiation.

Essential Requirements

  • Proof of COVID-19 vaccination status (or as required by legislation and WMQ policy)
  • Relevant probity checks required by legislation and WMQ Limited policy.
  • Current Driver’s Licence and willingness to travel for work
