About the role

An exciting opportunity exists for an experienced perioperative leader to join Calvary Launceston as Nurse Unit Manager – Operating Theatres. This permanent full-time position is responsible for the operational, clinical and workforce leadership of our Operating Theatre department across Calvary's Launceston hospitals.

You will lead a multidisciplinary team to deliver safe, high-quality patient care, support service improvement initiatives, and contribute to the ongoing development of perioperative services within a collaborative and values-based environment.

Your main duties will include

  • Lead and manage the day-to-day operations of the Operating Theatre department
  • Drive clinical excellence, workforce development and patient safety outcomes
  • Manage staffing, resources, budgets and continuous improvement initiatives

About You

  • Current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse
  • Postgraduate qualification relevant to perioperative practice (or working towards)
  • Experience in perioperative nursing and theatre operations
  • Demonstrated leadership and people management capability
  • Strong communication, organisational and stakeholder engagement skills
