The Opportunity
TripADeal is entering a new phase of growth and is building a stronger integrated communications ecosystem. You will ensure our Owned, Earned, Shared, and Paid (OESP) channels function as a high-performance growth engine. We’re looking for a senior, highly collaborative media strategist to lead integrated media planning across a seamless full-funnel customer journey from initial awareness to post-trip advocacy. This commercially critical role requires a sophisticated approach to deploying substantial budgets, ensuring every touchpoint has a specific action item. You will transform marketing spend from a short-term cost into a long-term investment in profitable growth by prioritising Lifetime Value (LTV).
Organisational Structure
This permanent full-time position is 100% onsite working from our Byron Bay Headquarters or Varsity Lakes Gold Coast office (minimum 1-day per fortnight in HQ), working Monday to Friday, 8-4pm or 9-5pm - you choose!
You will report directly to the Chief Customer Officer (CCO), managing 1 direct report and a broader team of 4+ indirect reports.
A Day in the Life
- Direct and optimize performance marketing channels including Paid Search, CRM, and Social to decode traveler behavior, overcome specific barriers, and increase conversion velocity through the purchase funnel.
- Act as the primary user of the Marketing Mix Model (MMM) to evaluate media allocation, ensuring spend is actively optimizing the balance between New Customer Acquisition and Repeat Loyalty to maximize lifetime value (LTV). Collaborate with the Media Agency to compliment our data and analysis with agency media effectiveness tools.
- Define the communications task at every stage of the funnel, from initial awareness to post-trip advocacy.
- Manage high-velocity retail campaign cycles and daily shifts in market conditions, ensuring the team hits immediate, aggressive sales targets without eroding long-term brand equity.
- Provide strategic leadership and direct management to the internal Digital Media and CRM specialist teams. Actively dismantle operational silos to build a highly unified, collaborative environment, ensuring every team member and every dollar invested works cohesively toward a defined commercial outcome.
- Lead strategic briefs for external media agencies, pushing for accountability and performance-driven results that are systematically multiplied by the internal organic ecosystem.
- Review recent customer service insights, social sentiment, and NPS feedback alongside the analytics team to directly optimize and pivot the OESP (Owned, Earned, Shared, Paid) customer journey roadmap.
To be a Front Running Candidate
- 8+ years in strategic media planning or media delivering measurable growth in high-performance environments working with significant budgets.
- Proven experience using MMM to justify budget allocation and optimising the relationship between New vs. Repeat customers. Experience with tools such as Mutinex is desirable.
- Experience across “all media” (not just digital), with a full-funnel mindset. Agency and client-side experience highly regarded.
- Demonstrated ability to design complex frameworks and articulate the specific role of each channel in the customer journey.
- Confident using data to shape strategy (e.g. marketing effectiveness, lifetime value, addressable market, consumer research).
- Evidence of managing high-paced retail cycles and daily shifts in market conditions while maintaining long-term brand health.
- Experience directing advanced CRM platforms, digital specialists, and large media agencies to deliver a unified output.
- The successful candidate will be required to undergo a Qantas background check.
