Your role at St John of God Burwood
We are seeking applications for Patient Services Assistants to join our Environmental Services team at Burwood, on a casual basis.
You will be responsible for supporting the nursing staff and ensuring the hospital is always cleaned and maintained to a high standard.
The successful candidate will be expected to work across a variety of day, evening, and weekend shifts; and have the flexibility to cover shifts at short notice.
The Position
- Maintain the cleanliness of all rooms and common areas within the building and grounds of SJGHC Burwood.
- Maintain high standard of all Housekeeping services to Clients, guests and caregivers.
- Attend and participate in meetings as directed by Housekeeping Coordinator & Hotel Services Manager.
- Use and maintain Housekeeping equipment in accordance with manufactures instructions and safe operating procedures.
- Assists in the provision of other additional services provided by housekeeping under the direction of the Housekeeping Supervisors, Managers or Duty Nurse Manager.
Successful applicants will have demonstrated experience working with industrial cleaning equipment, excellent interpersonal skills and able to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team.

We can offer you
- Hourly rate: $33.73 (inclusive of casual loading) plus 12% Superannuation
- Casual position | 06:00am to 7:00am start times for shifts
- Walking distance to Burwood/Strathfield Station
