As Legal Counsel, you will join the Review Team within our broader Employee Conduct and Accountability Team, championing ownership, accountability and continuous learning.
Each day, you’ll go above and beyond to:
- Provide critical operational and analytical support to the Review Team in the delivery of Fact Finds, Learning Reviews, and Consequences Investigations into material risk and conduct events across NAB (reviews).
- Assist in the end-to-end review process by gathering, organising, and analysing a wide range of evidence including documents, system data, interview notes, and governance artefacts to ensure reviews are thorough, fair, and timely.
- Contribute to the preparation of high-quality documentation and reports that inform governance decisions and enterprise-level learning and improvement initiatives.
- Ensure all review activities are conducted in accordance with NAB’s accountability framework, maintaining legal professional privilege, procedural fairness, and compliance with regulatory obligations, such as CPS 511 and the Financial Accountability Regime (FAR).
- Support the Review Team’s commitment to continuous improvement by identifying process enhancements and contributing to the refinement of review tools and methodologies.
We’re looking for the best and brightest to deliver the best for our customers. You’ll need:
- Demonstrated experience working in a similar role with experience in risk, compliance, legal, internal audit, or investigations support preferably in the Financial Services and/or Professional Services sector.
- Proven understanding and knowledge of regulatory frameworks such as CPS 511 and FAR.
- Experience working in a structured review or investigation environment coupled with an understanding of procedural fairness and legal privilege considerations is preferred.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to manage sensitive information with discretion.
- Analytical thinking and structured problem-solving skills and be a clear communicator.
- Ability to follow investigative protocols and document findings accurately.
- Strong stakeholder management expertise with the ability to influence at all levels.
