About Your Role
An exciting opportunity exists for an enthusiastic and motivated Mechanical Fitter Tradesperson to join our Shift Maintenance Team within the Maintenance Services Department. Reporting to the Supervisor – Plant Maintenance, you will contribute to the ongoing reliability and performance of our operations while supporting our commitment to safe, stable, and sustainable outcomes. This role offers the opportunity to work on a diverse range of plant equipment in a dynamic and team-focused environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Work safely and effectively both independently and as part of a collaborative team environment.
- Ensure all maintenance activities are carried out in accordance with site safety, environmental, and community policies, procedures, and standards.
- Perform fabrication, fitting, and welding activities on piping systems, fittings, valves, and associated equipment.
- Carry out maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting of drum filters, settlers, tertiary systems, pumps, piping, and related plant equipment.
- Identify, develop, and implement continuous improvement initiatives to enhance plant reliability, performance, and efficiency.
- Contribute to the ongoing improvement of maintenance processes, work practices, and operational standards.
- Maintain high standards of workmanship while supporting equipment availability and operational objectives.
What You Will Bring
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- A positive attitude and strong work ethic, with the ability to communicate effectively and contribute to a safe, productive, and team-oriented work environment.
- A recognised trade qualification as a Mechanical Fitter.
- Proven experience in the maintenance and overhaul of pumps, turbines, mills, fans, and related rotating equipment (highly desirable).
- A willingness to learn, develop new skills, and adapt to changing operational requirements.
- Strong self-motivation and a commitment to delivering high standards of customer service, quality workmanship, and continuous improvement.
- Current forklift, dogging, and rigging licences/tickets will be highly regarded.
