- Monday to Friday, 72.5 hours per fortnight, 9 day fortnight
- Pro Rata amount of $94,173 - $100,171 per annum (LGIA Stream A Level 4) + Superannuation
- Location – Rockhampton
Your new role
An opportunity has become available for a Property and Insurance Officer to join the Property and Insurance team until 15 January 2027.
You will be responsible for carrying out various property and insurance functions, including the supervision of the Insurance Officer, the management of Council’s residential, community and commercial rental portfolio and property related tenders.
This position requires the completion of a satisfactory Criminal History Check - Police Certificate (Australia Wide Name Only Police Check).
What we are looking for
- Proven experience in property management with a strong focus on community and commercial leasing and tenure management.
- Demonstrated experience in drafting, reviewing and administering community and commercial lease agreements and contracts, with an understanding of associated legal implications
- Strong professional work ethic, high degree of judgment and initiative
- Demonstrated ability to provide confidential and sensitive services to all staff and the public
- Sound knowledge of the Land Act 1994 and Land Title Act 1994 requirements.
- Insurance industry experience

Application Criteria
- Demonstrated experience working in a property management environment, particularly the preparation and negotiation of appropriate community and commercial tenure agreements.
- Demonstrated working knowledge of the various types of land tenure and the relevant application of the Land Title Act, Land Act and Titles Queensland registration requirements including demonstrated ability to interpret and apply legislation and contractual terms relevant to leasing and land use.
- Demonstrated experience in insurance claims management, including assessment and finalising insurance claims.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to resolve conflict/complex problems while focusing on quality customer service.
