Scaffidi Group is looking for a dynamic and commercially savvy Senior Buyer to lead our OTC and Health categories across our pharmacy networks. Leading a team of buyers, you will drive category strategy, identify new opportunities, and deliver outstanding commercial outcomes. Working collaboratively with suppliers, retail managers, pharmacy teams, and key internal stakeholders, you'll influence category outcomes, strengthen relationships, and ensure our customers have access to the right products, at the right price, at the right time. Your leadership, strategic thinking, and ability to foster strong partnerships will be instrumental in driving continued success across our pharmacy network.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead a high-performing buying team to drive procurement, category growth, and supplier partnerships across OTC and health products for United Chemists and independent pharmacies.
• Manage and actively review the commercial performance of assigned OTC businesses and health categories to drive financial success.
• Deliver category strategies, product ranges, and promotional plans to drive business growth.
• Foster relationships with suppliers, pharmacy teams, and key stakeholders across the business.
• Manage inventory, stock availability, and range reviews to optimise category performance.
• Negotiate supplier agreements, trading terms, rebates, and promotional funding opportunities.
• Analyse category performance data and provide recommendations to improve commercial outcomes.
• Collaborate with Marketing and Retail teams to align buying activity with promotional campaigns and business objectives.
• Lead sourcing initiatives and support continuous improvement projects across the business.
• Conduct Pharmacy visits to provide category support and identify improvement opportunities.
• Develop and maintain planograms and merchandising standards across the pharmacy network.

About You

You are an experienced buying or category management professional who thrives on balancing strategic thinking with operational execution.

Ideally you will bring:

• Proven experience in a Senior Buyer, Buyer or Procurement role within pharmacy, retail, healthcare, or FMCG environments.
• Strong commercial acumen with experience managing sales, margin, forecasting, budgeting, and profitability targets.
• Experience with building positive relationships for supplier negotiation and management, including trading terms, rebates, promotional funding, and contract administration.
• Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with internal stakeholders and external partners, including pharmacy teams, retail managers, suppliers, and marketing teams.
• Experience working within independent retail or franchise-based networks.
• Knowledge of pharmacy operations and multisite support models.
• Experience with merchandising, inventory, and category management systems.
• Exposure to product management software or merchandising tools (POS works).
• Relevant tertiary qualifications in Business, Commerce, Supply Chain, Marketing, or a related discipline (Not essential but highly regarded).
