About this role

  • Sunnybank Private Hospital is seeking an experienced Clinical Nurse - Recovery / PACU to join our Operating Theatre. You will play a key role within a supportive team in ensuring high levels of patient care is provided.

With 120 inpatient Surgical and Medical beds, a rehabilitation gym, 7 operating theatres, 2 procedure rooms, a day oncology unit and an ICU, Sunnybank Private Hospital has been providing care to our local community for over 40 years and continually embraces the highest quality of holistic patient care.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversea safe, quality care that meets current best practice standard
  • Support and liaise with the Perioperative Services Manager, Nurse Unit Manager, staff and VMO anaesthetist
  • Understanding of legislative requirements, ACORN, and sterilisation standards
  • Knowledge of accreditation processes and Quality/Risk Management

Essential Criteria

  • Current registration with AHPRA
  • Previous experience in a CN / Recovery / PACU role, or been practising in the role of anaesthetic nurse for more than 3-4 years in a team leader role
  • Have completed relevant post graduate qualification or commitment to commence within 12 months of appointment
  • Commitment to Quality Patient Care
  • Compliance with NSQHC National standards
  • Have completed relevant post graduate qualification or commitment to commence within 12 months of appointment
  • Sound clinical decision making and problem-solving skills
  • Experience in similar position (desired)
  • Excellent Communication and Customer Services skills
  • Highly organised and strong ability to prioritise tasks
