We are seeking a reliable and motivated

Trade Assistant to join a leading Tier One engineering and maintenance organisation, operating out of a modern

Bassendean workshop. This is a great opportunity to secure stable, long-term work while gaining exposure to specialised rail and heavy maintenance operations.

Shifts Available

• Dayshift: Monday to Friday, 6:00 am - 2:30 pm
• Afternoon Shift: Monday to Thursday, 1:30 pm - 10:30 pm & Friday, 1:30 pm - 7:30 pm (afternoons available after training)

About The Role

Working in a busy workshop environment, you will support tradespeople with maintenance and overhaul of locomotive and heavy equipment components.

Key Responsibilities Include

• Assisting tradespeople to ensure work is completed safely and efficiently
• Operating hand tools in a safe and effective manner
• Supporting maintenance and overhaul activities on a variety of components
• Performing general labouring duties as required
• Cleaning armature and stator cores for rewind processes
• Contributing to Lean practices and continuous improvement initiatives
• Maintaining a strong commitment to safety and quality standards at all times

About You

To be successful, you will have:

• Minimum 3 months experience working on a maintenance or industrial site
• Experience assisting trades in a heavy industry environment
• A valid C Class Driver's Licence
• Strong safety awareness and commitment to safe work practices
• Good communication skills and ability to work in a team
• Attention to detail and ability to maintain quality standards

Highly regarded (but not essential)

• Dogman ticket
• Elevated Work Platform (EWP) ticket
