Royal Motor Yacht Club (RMYC) Newport is more than a workplace. It is a vibrant waterfront Club where community, hospitality and finance come together. As we continue to grow and evolve, we are looking for a detail-driven Payroll Officer to join our small, supportive and professional Finance Team. This is a hands-on, part time role (2 days a week) where your work genuinely matters, supporting the financial operations by leading and adding value to the payroll function that keeps our Club running smoothly every day.

Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, in a stand-alone payroll position, you will become a key part of a close-knit team where no two days are the same. You will gain broad exposure across payroll and compliance. while developing your skills in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
What You'll Gain

- Take charge and lead payroll process improvements and efficiencies
- Be the first level helpdesk for payroll queries
- Work closely with the payroll system provider to implement updates and improve workflows
- Add value by supporting, educating, and guiding managers and employees for a user-friendly experience
What You'll Do
- Take charge of end-to-end payroll operations, helping ensure employees are paid accurately and on time while building your payroll expertise
- Develop your compliance and reconciliation skills through managing payroll tax, superannuation and leave reconciliations
What You Bring
- Tertiary qualification in Accounting, Finance or related fields
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in a Payroll Officer or similar role
- Strong skills in payroll systems with preference given to Employment Hero experience
- Experience with payroll processing and financial compliance
- Strong attention to detail with excellent reconciliation and analytical ability
- Clear communication skills and a collaborative, team-first mindset
- Experience in hospitality or club environments (advantageous but not essential)
