What's the role?

Australia’s leading commercial news brand news.com.au and News Corp’s breaking news service NewsWire seek a team assistant to support their adjacent newsrooms in Surry Hills. The successful applicant will have the opportunity to collaborate and network in these dynamic newsrooms which foster creativity and innovation in storytelling.

Responsibilities

This administrative role is responsible for a broad variety of tasks, some of which will be guided, others managed independently. Applicants must be comfortable with both ways of working. Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

  • Financial support including raising purchase orders, invoice processing, budget tracking and other related workflow
  • Support news.com.au and NewsWire editors with diary management and other administrative tasks
  • Using HR systems, manage onboarding, offboarding and job changes of employees
  • Organising travel bookings for newsroom staff
  • Collaborate with and support administrative staff in other business units

Who are you?

  • Naturally curious and proactive with a positive can-do attitude;
  • You will exhibit a genuine passion to succeed and always deliver the best that you can in any situation;
  • You will have a keen eye for detail, strong prioritisation skills and be able to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information;
  • You must be a ‘people person’ and have strong communication skills at all levels, enjoy networking and relationship building;
  • Previous experience working in a Team Assistant or Coordinator role in a fast paced business environment and a strong working knowledge of Google Suite, Zoom, MS Office, Concur and JDE will be an advantage.
