About the Opportunity TRS Resourcing is partnering with a leading Australian manufacturer specialising in the design and production of aviation fuel tankers, fuel trailers, and specialised transport equipment.

Due to continued growth, we are seeking experienced

Trades Assistants to join their workshop team in Sunshine West. This is a hands-on role working alongside skilled tradespeople to assemble, fit, and install components on new aviation fuel tanker builds.

This position offers stable long-term work, overtime opportunities, and the chance to work on specialised equipment within a modern manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist with the assembly and fit-out of aviation fuel tankers and trailers
• Install hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical components
• Support the installation of pumps, valves, hoses, and associated equipment
• Safely operate hand and power tools
• Work closely with Mechanical Fitters, Boilermakers, and Electricians
• Maintain high-quality workmanship and safety standards throughout the build process
• Assist with workshop duties as required

Skills & Experience To be successful, you will have:

• Previous experience as a Trades Assistant, Mechanical TA, or Assembly Technician
• Experience working within manufacturing, transport equipment, trailer building, or heavy vehicle industries
• Ability to use hand and power tools confidently
• Mechanical aptitude and strong attention to detail
• Experience assisting qualified tradespeople in a workshop environment
• Reliable work ethic and ability to follow instructions

Highly Regarded

• Experience installing trailer accessories and components
• Exposure to hydraulic and pneumatic systems
• Mechanical fitting or assembly experience
• Ability to work independently and prioritise workloads
• Sound understanding of Workplace Health & Safety practices
