We have an exciting opportunity for a Mechanical Leading Hand UM1T role to join us in the Fixed Plant Surface Maintenance team at the Lead Smelter, working a roster of 4D4O4D2O, dayshift.

The Role

Reporting to the Supervisor Mechanical, you will ensure to safely and effectively perform planned and breakdown maintenance tasks by working within a team.

Promoting site safety standards and ensuring the highest standards of work are conducted and maintained, with opportunity to develop into further roles within the business.

Your key responsibilities include

    To assist the supervisor by acting in a leadership capacity for the crew To act in supervisor role when supervisor is absent Encourage personnel to participate in safety-related activitiesI Identify potential improvements to work practices and conditions Provide feedback to the Supervisor on a regular basis Be proactive in maintaining competencies as specified in the Leading Hand Training Plan Assist in managing and coordinating time and priorities for self and team Identify potential safety and cost-saving initiatives To deliver personnel and equipment to job sites and return surplus equipment to stores To assist in achieving budgeted development and production KPIs by performing varied tasks To contribute positively to the team environment, operate safely and assist with delivery of production targets within budget Assist supervisor and team in scope/method development Assist in supervisor/teams weekly planning obligations Build and develop in co-operation with key stakeholders, shutdown execution plan paks

The successful applicants will have

    Minimum 3-5 years’ experience in a similar role/responsibilities Trade qualified Fitter or Engineer Mining experience preferred but not essential Excellent trouble-shooting & problem solving skills Flexible approach and adaptable to change with a high attention to detail Good time management skills and able to work well under pressure Demonstrated ability to work well in a team environment Good communication skills Willingness and ability to learn new processes Hold a current Australian manual drivers licence Experience in SAP would be an advantage or similar system Experience in Excel would be an advantage
