About the opportunity
The Workplace Rehabilitation Provider is responsible for assessing the rehabilitation needs of injured employees immediately following an injury, and facilitating earliest possible return to work. You will develop, implement and monitor rehabilitation and return to work plans, liaise with medical/treating practitioners, service providers, workplace managers and claims officers.
This role will need to ensure that rehabilitation activities are undertaken in a manner that will ensure compliance with all policies, procedures and legislative requirements.
This is a 12-month fixed term opportunity.
You’ll also
- Assess an injured employee’s capability to undertake a rehabilitation program, including conducting initial rehabilitation assessments and work site assessments
- Design, develop and manage return to work programs tailored to an individual’s rehabilitation needs, including monitoring approved sub-contracted services considered necessary
- Provide professional advice as required for occupational rehabilitation, injury management and prevention, including participation in case conferences and reviews of complex claims
- Ensure compliance with the Australia Post Group and Comcare’s rehabilitation procedures and standards
- Manage a caseload of up to 35-40 cases for a full-time In-House Workplace Rehabilitation Provider.
About you
You’ll have excellent organisation and prioritisation skills and be motivated and passionate about achieving positive results for injured employees and the Australia Post Group.
You’ll also need
- A degree in Occupational Therapy, Physiotherapy, Psychology, Rehabilitation Counselling or Exercise Physiology
- Eligibility for membership of relevant professional association (essential)
- Minimum 1 year experience within occupational rehabilitation
- Prior experience applying early injury management strategies
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Previous Comcare case management experience (highly regarded)
- Demonstrated prior work experience as an In House or Independent Rehabilitation Provider (highly regarded)
- A current driver’s license and have your own vehicle.
