About the Role
They are looking for a Structural Engineer to join the Project Engineering Team, working on projects across Australia, New Zealand, and Southeast Asia, to manage day-to-day structural engineering activities on utility-scale PV projects from the development phase through construction support.
The Structural Engineer will make structural engineering decisions across projects including, but are not limited to, load calculations, steel design, component sizing, foundation sizing, structural tool development, preparation of structural documentation, and other related engineering tasks to support project quoting and detailed engineering packages.
The role also interfaces with engineering teams in the US, Mexico, Brazil, Europe, and India, as well as internal Sales, Project Management, and R&D teams globally
Your key responsibilities
- Produce structural design documentation, including drawings and calculations.
- Perform structural analyses for structure loading/demand/capacity and prepare corresponding calculations and reports.
- Provide construction phase support by responding to RFIs and reviewing submittals.
- Support the project development phase by reviewing site information, performing calculations, and contributing to cost estimations.
- Collaborate with Structural/Geotechnical/Civil Engineers across regions to maintain and update standards, specifications, templates, and design tools.
- Development of new structural design tools to expediate the design process.
- Occasional sites visit to complete structural inspections.
Requirements
Essential
- A Civil/Structural Engineering degree qualification.
- Demonstrated experience in structural design of steel structures, including calculation of dead, live, snow, wind, and seismic loads including production of design construction documentation.
- Strong knowledge of applicable local engineering standards, codes, and guidelines, including AS/NZS standards.
- Knowledge of international engineering standards, codes, and other applicable state and federal guidelines, including but not limited to IBC, ASCE, ASTM, AISC, and ACI is advantageous.
- Proficiency in structural analysis software (RISA, STAAD, or equivalent) and AutoCAD.
- Experience in Finite Element Analysis is advantageous.
- Proficiency in programming languages is advantageous.
- Australian citizen or permanent resident.
