An exciting opportunity has arisen for a BESS Solutions Engineer to join a leading global provider of battery analytics and software solutions, supporting the rapidly growing energy storage market in Australia.

This is a foundational hire in the region, offering the opportunity to shape local technical capability while working with cutting-edge technology at the forefront of the energy transition.

About the Role

This position sits at the intersection of battery performance engineering, data analytics, and customer engagement. You will act as the primary technical advisor for customers, supporting both pre-sales and post-sales activities, and ensuring successful adoption of advanced analytics across utility-scale BESS assets.

You will work closely with global product, engineering, and commercial teams while operating independently within the Australian market.

Key Responsibilities

• Act as the primary technical point of contact for BESS customers in Australia
• Support technical sales processes, including discovery, data-readiness assessments, and solution design
• Lead onboarding of new BESS assets, including system configuration and data validation
• Deliver and validate performance KPIs, ensuring data quality and actionable insights
• Conduct battery performance analysis during commissioning and operations (e.g. capacity tests, degradation, anomalies)
• Provide technical training to customers and ensure platform adoption
• Collaborate cross-functionally with global teams and contribute to product improvement
• Travel across Australia for customer engagement and site visits (up to ~40%)

Experience

• Proven experience within the BESS or wider energy storage industry (e.g. performance engineering, systems engineering, O&M)
• Strong understanding of battery systems and architecture (BMS, EMS, PCS, SCADA)
• Knowledge of lithium-ion battery behaviour, including degradation and performance metrics
• Understanding of the Australian energy market (NEM) and grid-scale storage operations is advantageous
• Strong communication skills, with the ability to engage both technical and commercial stakeholders
• Comfortable working in a customer-facing, fast-paced environment
