Structured Forensic Engineer

Join a busy WA based team of highly qualified and experienced Structural Engineers.

Sequel Consulting Engineers specialises in the assessment of damaged buildings following cyclone, flood, fire, impact, earthquake and storm events. Our projects range from domestic homes through to large factories, warehouses and shopping centres, providing practical engineering solutions for repair, reinstatement or rebuild.

This is a rare opportunity for an experienced Structural Engineer to join our team in a role offering genuine flexibility and work/life balance.

This position combines site inspections throughout Western Australia with the flexibility to work from home completing reports, scopes, and technical documentation. Travel may be undertaken commercially or in our privately owned aircraft. Ideal for a self-motivated engineer who enjoys autonomy, variety, and balancing field work with remote work in a flexible environment.

This position is offered on a subcontract basis, with a strong and consistent flow of projects ensuring plenty of ongoing work for a busy schedule. We also welcome applications from suitably qualified Structural Engineers looking to take on additional work alongside their current commitments.

In addition to a strong work ethic and a customer-focused attitude, the key criteria are:

• Minimum - Bachelor of Engineering (Structural)
• Minimum - 10 years commercial/residential structural experience
• Strong English skills - both written and verbal
• Ability to complete site visits, provide make safe reports and scopes of work for repair or rebuild
• Access to AutoCad or similar
• Flexibility to travel to remote locations throughout Western Australia on commercial and private aircraft
• Ability to collaborate with the team on projects
• Current C Class Driver’s Licence and a reliable vehicle
• Own ABN and the ability to provide invoices for services
• Own PI and PL insurances
• Australian or New Zealand citizenship or permanent residency status
