The Opportunity
Reporting to the CEO, this is a genuine leadership role with real breadth. You'll sit close to the Executive, influence culture and strategy, and do work that actually matters - not just internally, but in terms of the organisation's ability to deliver impact in the world.
This is a hands-on generalist role - one where you'll move between strategic work and operational delivery. If you like variety, purpose, and being trusted to lead, it's a compelling opportunity.
What You'll Be Doing
- Partnering with the Executive team to support the organisation and its people through ongoing change
- Driving HR activities across workforce culture, values, diversity and inclusion
- Leading recruitment strategy - attracting, retaining and developing great people
- Coordinating learning and development programs to meet organisational and compliance needs
- Supporting country offices with Human resource advice
- Fostering a strong WHS culture with the right policies and practices in place
- Leading the People & Culture components of ANCP reaccreditation
- Keeping the organisation compliant with employment laws and awards across Australia and the region
- Maintaining a transparent remuneration framework
- Championing safeguarding - keeping child protection and SEAH risk front of mind
What You'll Bring
Essential
- Proven experience in a senior People & Culture or HR leadership role
- Relevant tertiary qualification in HR or a related discipline
- Strong working knowledge of Australian employment law and ideally, legislation across the Asia-Pacific region
Highly regarded
- Background in the international aid or development sector
- Familiarity with ANCP accreditation and the ACFID Code of Conduct
- Membership with AHRI
- Experience in cross-cultural work environments
- Working knowledge of BambooHR
