The opportunity
As our new Procurement Officer, you'll play a key role in supporting Council’s procurement activities by guiding staff through tender processes and ensuring compliance with procurement policies and legislation. As you work closely with the Senior Procurement Officer, you'll contribute to improving procurement frameworks, driving value for money outcomes, and supporting strategic procurement initiatives across the organisation.
What You’ll Do
- Provide expert advice to staff and project managers on procurement processes and tendering requirements
- Manage and facilitate end-to-end tender processes, including documentation and evaluation
- Lead preparation of tender evaluation and Council reports to support procurement decisions
- Contribute to the development and continuous improvement of procurement frameworks, policies, and procedures
- Support procurement compliance, monitoring, and reporting, ensuring alignment with legislation and best practice
What You Need To Succeed
- Relevant qualification (degree/diploma) and/or practical procurement experience (2+ years desirable)
- Strong knowledge of procurement, tendering processes, probity, and compliance requirements
- Understanding of procurement legislation (Local Government Act 2020 desirable) and risk/OHS requirements
- Demonstrated experience preparing and facilitating tender documentation and evaluations
- Ability to manage workloads independently and deliver within deadlines and budgets
