DBCT Works for Me – where you experience Care, Connection and Community.

Located just 38km south of Mackay, Dalrymple Bay Coal Terminal (DBCT) is a world-class export facility with a nameplate capacity of 85Mtpa. Behind this performance are our people — connected, capable and committed to doing great work together.

At DBCT, you’ll experience a workplace where your leadership matters, your ideas are valued, and you can go home every night knowing you’ve made a difference.

The Opportunity

We’re looking for an experienced Maintenance Planning Team Leader to lead our mid term Asset Management Planning team and drive best-practice planning and scheduling outcomes across the terminal.

This is a high-impact leadership role where you will:

  • Lead and develop a team of planners to deliver high-quality, consistent planning outcomes
  • Drive the development and execution of mid to long-term asset plans and work packages, including the 5-year planning cycle
  • Improve and standardise planning systems, processes and work management practices
  • Monitor planning performance and adjust priorities to meet operational needs
  • Partner across the business to deliver safe, efficient and reliable asset outcomes
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives across asset management and planning functions

This role blends people leadership, technical expertise and strategic influence — with a strong focus on improving systems, performance and reliability.

About You

You are a people-focused leader with a strong background in maintenance or asset management who enjoys leading teams, improving systems and delivering outcomes — without needing to be the technical expert in the room.

You bring:

  • Proven experience leading and developing teams in maintenance or asset management environments
  • Strong understanding of work management principles and planning systems (e.g. JDE or similar)
  • Experience improving and standardising planning processes, systems and governance
  • Ability to translate strategic plans (including 5-year planning horizons) into practical, executable work packages
  • Demonstrated ability to monitor performance, adapt plans and respond to changing operational priorities
  • Experience using data and insights to identify gaps and drive continuous improvement
  • Strong stakeholder engagement, influencing and negotiation skills
  • Exposure to contractor management, including developing scopes of work and supporting tender processes (desirable)
  • Experience in heavy industry, resources or continuous processing environments

You are known for being:

  • A proactive and adaptable leader who thrives in dynamic environments
  • A strong communicator who builds trust and alignment across teams
  • A collaborative team player who leads with energy and initiative
  • A solution-focused thinker who performs well under pressure and understands risk in an operational context

What’s on Offer

  • Monday to Friday role — home every night
  • Up to 12% superannuation
  • Short Term Incentive bonus opportunity
  • 5 weeks annual leave + leave loading
  • Relocation support (where applicable)
  • Learning & development opportunities (including further education)
  • Discounted fuel, novated leasing and employee benefits program
  • Onsite physio, wellbeing initiatives and Employee Assistance Program
