We're not looking for someone to manage a restaurant.
We're looking for someone who genuinely loves hospitality. Someone who finds deep satisfaction when a table of regulars feels at home, when service flows without friction, when the team works as one and the kitchen and floor are in perfect sync.
Pino's al Mare is a well-established Italian restaurant in Cronulla with a loyal community, a reputation for bespoke private dining and events, and an owner who cares about his team and the guest experience. We do things properly — from the food to the table setting to how we answer the phone.
We need a right hand.
WHAT THE ROLE ACTUALLY LOOKS LIKE
You will be present. On the floor, leading service, setting the standard every shift. You will also be the person who makes sure everything behind the scenes runs properly — staffing, training, mise en place, supplier communication, systems, and the day-to-day rhythm of the restaurant.
You will work closely with Matteo (owner) and Cristiano (our Head Chef). You will be the link between the floor and the kitchen — the first person staff come to, and the reason guests keep coming back.
WHAT WE NEED FROM YOU
• Genuine, proven experience as a Restaurant Manager or Senior Floor Manager in a quality a la carte or private dining environment. Please do not apply if your background is fast food or high-volume chain hospitality.
• The ability to lead a team by example, not by title.
• Strong front-of-house presence with a warm, professional manner that reflects Italian hospitality.
• Experience training and elevating junior staff without micromanaging.
• Experience coordinating private events and functions end-to-end.
• A genuine understanding of Italian cuisine and dining culture is a significant advantage.
• RSA, full working rights in Australia, and an immaculate personal presentation.
WHO WE ARE
Pino's has been part of the Sydney food community since 2016. After leaving our original home in Alexandria, we have been trading at our new home in Cronulla since 2024. Nearly a decade of regulars, of celebrations, of tables that come back year after year — that doesn't happen by accident. The culture, the warmth of the room, the standard we hold ourselves to: these things were built carefully and they mean a great deal to us.
We are looking for someone who is drawn to what we have built, not looking to rebuild it. If you see room to sharpen how we do things, fantastic — that conversation is always welcome. But first you will want to understand it deeply, and that takes someone with a genuine curiosity for how a well-run, owner-operated restaurant actually works.
WHAT WE OFFER
• Salary $90,000 to $105,000 + superannuation, depending on experience.
