The Senior Technical Specialist designs and implements IP-based platform infrastructure and service solutions, ensuring alignment with architecture standards and business requirements. The role involves developing low-level designs, configuring automation tools, and supporting testing and deployment across production networks. It requires strong expertise in routing, switching, firewall configuration, data centre networking (VXLAN/EVPN), and hands-on experience with major vendor equipment, along with flexibility for after-hours implementation and troubleshooting.
Your day to day will consist of
- Design IP network connectivity solutions aligned with platform architectures and standards.
- Support onboarding and integration of new routers and switches into the network.
- Coordinate with stakeholders to resolve design, process, and requirement-related issues.
- Provide feasibility studies and impact assessments for projects.
- Offer technical support during critical incidents from a design perspective.
- Develop and review solution designs, documentation, and collaborate with teams and vendors.
- Build strong stakeholder relationships, communicate solutions clearly, manage vendors, and proactively address risks while supporting project escalations.
What makes you perfect for the role
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Computer Science, Electrical, or related field).
- 15+ years of IP network engineering experience, including 5+ years in leadership roles and delivering large-scale projects.
- Strong expertise in end-to-end design and lifecycle management of core telco technologies (BNG, CGNAT, DC fabric, firewalls, and edge routers).
- Deep knowledge of networking protocols and technologies (TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF, MPLS, SRv6, EVPN, VPNs, QoS, and traffic engineering).
- Experience in scalable architecture design, network automation, intent-based networking, and mobile network technologies (3G/4G/5G, IMS, VoLTE/VoWifi/VoNR, RAN).
- Advanced network security knowledge including IPSEC, DDoS mitigation, Zero Trust, and secure network design practices.
- Strong leadership and business skills, including stakeholder communication, team mentoring, decision-making, commercial awareness, and compliance management.
