Electrical Engineer

A fast-growing Australian engineering business based in Brisbane is commercialising world-first medium voltage connector technology for technically demanding environments. With certified products already in market and a strong pipeline of new product development underway, the business is hiring an Electrical Engineer to take ownership of hands-on design, documentation and product engineering as the company enters its next stage of growth.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and develop high voltage electrical systems and components across current and future product ranges
• Lead design for manufacturability across compact electrical equipment and connector systems
• Maintain engineering drawings, schematics and technical documentation to a professional standard
• Support product testing, validation and quality assurance for electrical components and assemblies
• Contribute to certification and compliance processes across ANZEx, IECEx, AS/NZS and IEC standards
• Liaise with external suppliers, manufacturers and testing bodies on specifications and technical requirements
• Provide direct engineering input on product design decisions, technical risk and development priorities
• Support product innovation, intellectual property development and future engineering roadmap planning

Desired Skills and Attributes

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline
• Four to seven years of post-graduation electrical engineering experience
• Current RPEQ registration in Electrical Engineering, or eligibility to obtain registration
• Proven experience in high-voltage electrical system design
• Hands-on product design experience across small electrical equipment or electromechanical products
• Strong understanding of design for manufacture and scalable production
• Working knowledge of Australian and international electrical standards
• Experience with hazardous environments such as mining, oil and gas, defence or heavy industry
• Exposure to ANZEx, IECEx, connector systems, cable assemblies or composite materials would be highly regarded
• High ownership, autonomy and comfort working in a lean growth-stage environment
