About The Role

This is a fully remote, flexible contract role built for researchers who want to do meaningful, intellectually stimulating work on their own schedule. No prior AI industry experience required — your academic rigor and research depth are exactly what we're looking for.

What You'll Do

• Develop, solve, and review advanced, multi-disciplinary problems with real-world relevance that challenge and sharpen AI reasoning
• Apply your research expertise to design complex, nuanced problem statements that expose the limits of current AI models
• Evaluate AI-generated solutions for technical accuracy, logical soundness, and academic rigor
• Collaborate asynchronously with AI researchers and domain experts to drive improvements in model performance
• Ensure depth, clarity, and intellectual integrity across all deliverables

Who You Are

• Holder of a Master's or PhD in a STEM or highly technical field from a leading university
• Proven track record in research — publications, complex project work, or advanced technical problem-solving
• Exceptionally clear written and verbal communicator with a sharp eye for detail
• Self-directed and comfortable delivering high-quality work independently
• Intellectually curious, methodical, and genuinely excited by hard problems

Nice to Have

• Prior experience with data annotation, data quality assessment, or AI evaluation systems
• Proficiency in Python, R, or other research-oriented programming languages
• Background spanning multiple technical disciplines or cross-domain research experience
• Familiarity with AI tools, large language models, or machine learning concepts
