CGC Recruitment have been engaged by a well-established and expanding construction head contractor in Perth to recruit an experienced a site based HSE Advisor.

About The Client

Our client is a well-established and highly respected commercial builder with a strong reputation for delivering high-quality projects across Western Australia. With a collaborative culture, strong leadership team and a solid pipeline of secured work, they continue to grow their presence across the commercial and industrial construction sectors.

Due to ongoing project commitments, they are seeking an experienced HSE Advisor to join the business on a permanent full-time basis.

About The Role

You will be the dedicated HSE Advisor on a significant construction project, taking full ownership of health, safety and environmental performance on site.

Working closely with the Project Manager, Site Supervisor and subcontractors, you will play a key role in maintaining a strong safety culture and ensuring compliance with all relevant legislation, standards and company procedures.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with site leaders and subcontractors to identify and address potential safety hazards and risks.
  • Provide guidance and support in implementing health and safety plans and protocols for construction projects.
  • Conduct regular inspections and audits to assess compliance with safety standards and regulations.
  • Identify opportunities for improvement and recommend corrective actions to mitigate risks.
  • Review Safe Work Method Statements (SWMS) and be able to read construction plans to identify risks, hazards and opportunities to improve safety on site.
  • Participate in delivering safety training programs and initiatives to enhance awareness and promote safe work practices.
  • Investigate accidents, incidents, and near-miss occurrences, and prepare detailed reports.
  • Maintain accurate records of safety-related incidents, inspections, and training activities.

About You

  • Proven experience in a site-based HSE Advisor role within commercial construction.
  • Strong understanding of WA WHS legislation and industry best practice.
  • Ability to work autonomously as the sole HSE representative on site.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Certificate IV in Work Health and Safety (minimum).
  • Construction White Card.
  • ICAM or equivalent incident investigation training is highly regarded.
