About The Role
Stowe Australia is seeking a highly motivated IT Systems and Network Administrator to join our team. Reporting to the IT Operations Manager this role is ideal for an experienced administrator looking to join a fast paced, team-oriented environment.
This is a hands-on role, managing a brand-new environment, with room to grow your skills. 5 days a week in our Rydalmere office, full working rights in Australia is required, we are unable to sponsor.
Key Responsibilities
Systems Administration & Troubleshooting
- Administer and troubleshoot Windows Server environments (AD, DNS, DHCP, GPO, DFS, Print Services, Certificate Services)
- Perform root cause analysis on system outages, performance degradation, and service failures
- Monitor system health via alerting and management tooling
Virtualisation & Storage
- Manage and maintain VMware vSphere (ESXi hosts, vCenter, VM provisioning, snapshots, patching)
- Administer Pure Storage
- Server hardware lifecycle – HPE servers, iLO management, firmware updates
- Data centre operations across Sydney and Brisbane (NextDC facilities)
Endpoint Management
- Manage Microsoft SCCM/MECM – OS deployment, software distribution, patch management, compliance reporting
- Administer Microsoft Intune – device enrolment, configuration profiles, compliance policies, app deployment
- Maintain Windows Autopilot profiles and device lifecycle management
- Manage co-management strategy between SCCM and Intune
Network
- Configure and maintain Cisco switching (VLANs, port-channels, SFP/transceiver management, spanning-tree)
- Manage FortiGate firewalls – policy creation, VPN tunnels, NAT rules, diagnostics & packet capture
- WAN/inter-site connectivity and replication network paths
- DNS, DHCP, and IP address management
- Experience with VXLAN and EVPN would be highly desirable
Security
- Firewall rule reviews and change management
- MFA enforcement and access control for privileged accounts
- Assist with SOC review coordination for third-party vendors
Operations & Support
- Escalation point for Level 2/3 infrastructure tickets
- Monitor system health, capacity, and performance across all platforms
- Maintain technical documentation and runbooks for the IT team
- Coordinate with vendors (Pure Storage, HPE, Cisco, Fortinet) for support cases and hardware RMAs
- Participate in change management and out-of-hours maintenance windows
Communication Skills / Personal Qualities
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical users
- Strong attention to details
- Team player with the ability to work independently
- Motivated and proactive approach to work
Qualifications
Industry certifications desired, including but not limited to:
- VMware
- MCSE
- CCNA
- ITIL
