This opportunity sits within a highly regarded People & Culture team in a global, employee-owned professional services organisation. Supporting Queensland and New Zealand, the role blends strategic partnering with hands-on delivery in a fast-growing and complex environment.
Reporting into a Senior Business Partner, you will operate as a trusted advisor to senior leaders, helping to translate business priorities into practical, commercially sound people outcomes. With significant growth underway, particularly in Queensland, the role will see you play a key part in shaping workforce strategy, supporting leaders through change and navigating ambiguity within a matrix structure.
This is a 14-month fixed-term opportunity suited to an experienced Business Partner who can step in with confidence, operate autonomously, and bring a pragmatic, solutions-focused approach.
Key Responsibilities
- Partner with senior leaders across Queensland and New Zealand to translate business strategy into people plans
- Lead and operationalise strategic workforce planning initiatives across a growing portfolio
- Oversee and support complex employee relations and case management, coaching leaders and supporting the Advisor
- Provide practical, commercially grounded advice on performance, talent, and organisational matters
- Deliver and guide cyclical HR activities including talent review, succession planning, remuneration and promotions
- Coach and influence leaders through change, new processes and evolving people frameworks
- Contribute to organisational design, culture, and engagement initiatives aligned to broader strategy.pdf)
- Work within a matrix environment, partnering with COEs and broader P&C teams to deliver fit-for-purpose solution
About you
- Significant experience operating as a Business Partner in complex, fast-paced environments
- Strong employee relations capability, including oversight of complex cases
- Demonstrated ability to influence and challenge senior leaders with credibility
- Proven track record in workforce planning, talent strategy, and organisational change
- Commercially minded, pragmatic, and outcomes-focused in your approach
- Comfortable working in ambiguity, with the ability to navigate less structured environments
- Experience in professional services, consulting, or engineering environments is advantageous
- Exposure to matrix organisations and multi-region stakeholder groups preferred
- Strong communication, coaching and relationship-building capability
