Public Relations Manager
Bendigo Bank
We’ve never been ‘just a bank’. Just like you should never be ‘just an employee’. We’re united in our belief that in banking, better can be bigger, and together we’re making it happen.
It starts here. With Bendigo Bank… and you.
Within our Brand, Marketing and Communications division sits our Public Relations team. The Public Relations team supports the Bank through its core mission to protect and enhance Bendigo Bank’s reputation, ensuring all efforts strategically align and support our purpose to feed into the prosperity of our customers and communities. We have an exciting 12-month, full-time opportunity for a Public Relations Manager within this high-performing team. In this role, you will be immersed in a complex, issues-rich environment, giving you the chance to sink your teeth into meaningful work that makes a real impact.
You will work across both proactive media management and support issues management across our business. We're looking for someone with a natural "nose for news" who can develop positive, compelling stories, while working to protect the Bank’s reputation through active issues management and stakeholder engagement.
You are a passionate and driven public relations professional with a demonstrated track record in both proactive and reactive media management who thrives in a fast-paced environment. You are a results-driven storyteller who is adept at building relationships with journalists and internal stakeholders alike.
This isn't just another PR job. This is a chance to be a specialist in the banking and finance industry and elevate your career. You will be joining an experienced and supportive national team that is committed to nurturing and developing your skills. We will share our knowledge and empower you to grow and succeed. At Bendigo Bank, we are committed to being Australia's better big bank, and you'll play a key role in telling our story.
This role can be based in our Adelaide, Melbourne or Bendigo head office locations. We offer flexible work options that put our people first, working in a hybrid model with a minimum attendance requirement determined by your Leader, to find a rhythm that works best for you and your team. We believe that coming into the office some of the time is the best way to learn, stay connected and collaborate effectively, especially for key activities like team days, 1:1s, and town halls.
What you’ll bring to the role
- Demonstrated inhouse or agency experience in a corporate public relations role, ready to tackle a complex operating environment.
- A proven ability to find and pitch positive, proactive media stories that align with our brand with strong skills in the media pitching process from start to finish.
- Competence in both media management and navigating and responding to complex issues.
- An agile and nimble approach, with the ability to pivot quickly in a dynamic environment.
- Banking or finance industry experience will be highly regarded.
So, why work with us?
- Want big impact that matters? Here, you’ll know your work directly benefits the customers and communities we all serve.
