About The Role

We are looking for an experienced Learning and Development Lead – Mining to shape capability across the business and partner with leaders to deliver practical L&D solutions that support operational priorities.

Based in Muchea, you will lead a small team of L&D professionals supporting mining operations north of Perth, Bunbury and New South Wales, with regular site travel.

Reporting to the HR Director, you will lead regional L&D activity, assess capability gaps, partner with leaders on targeted solutions, and oversee the delivery of local and global programs within budget.

Key Responsibilities

  • L&D Strategy & Alignment - Build and drive an L&D strategy aligned to business priorities, capability needs and people goals.
  • Learning Systems & Governance - Oversee LMS governance, data integrity and learning technology improvements in line with global standards.
  • Program Design & Delivery - Lead the design and delivery of practical, inclusive learning programs aligned to workforce and competency needs.
  • Data & Reporting - Use learning data and dashboards to track impact, lift engagement and guide decisions.
  • Team Leadership - Lead, coach and develop the local L&D team while driving continuous improvement and strong stakeholder partnership.
  • Global Collaboration - Partner with the global L&D community to align strategy, share ideas and lift local delivery.
  • Stakeholder Engagement - Build trusted relationships across sites and support leaders to embed learning into the business.
  • Compliance & Risk - Ensure learning programs meet compliance requirements and support audit readiness.
  • Continuous Improvement - Keep learning approaches current, practical and responsive to business needs.
  • Manage the training budget, funding approvals and spend.

About You

  • 5–7 years’ leadership experience, with a proven ability to lead and develop teams
  • 10+ years’ experience in learning and development and/or training coordination
  • Strong understanding of strategic workforce capability, technical training compliance and people development
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Strong project management and delivery skills
  • Highly organised, with the ability to manage multiple priorities across sites
  • Working knowledge of change management practices
  • Experience with learning management systems; SuccessFactors experience will be highly regarded
