About The Role
This position is a Safety Sensitive Aviation Activity role and its purpose is to provide a safe, efficient and compliant operating environment for all airport facility users through inspecting, reporting and monitoring of the operational condition of the airport.
Key Responsibilities
Airport Operations
- Conduct aerodrome serviceability inspections and maintain compliance with Civil Aviation Safety Regulations, the Aerodrome Manual and applicable aviation standards.
- Monitor and maintain airside facilities, runway infrastructure, lighting systems, aeronautical equipment and communication systems.
- Undertake wildlife hazard management, condition reporting and security monitoring to ensure the safe operation of the aerodrome.
- Respond to aviation emergencies, safety and security incidents, and provide Works Safety Officer functions for airside works.
- Communicate critical operational and safety information to pilots, Air Traffic Control and relevant stakeholders.
- Perform general airport maintenance activities including pavement repairs, landscaping and facility upkeep.
- Operate, monitor and maintain airport parking systems and associated infrastructure.
Customer Service
- Provide professional and responsive customer service to internal and external stakeholders.
- Action customer requests and maintain communication to ensure timely updates and resolution.
Plant and Equipment Operations
- Safely operate, inspect and maintain plant, equipment and machinery in accordance with OEM specifications and Council policies.
- Complete routine servicing and maintenance to maximise operational reliability and minimise downtime.
Records and Compliance
- Maintain accurate operational, maintenance and compliance records in accordance with Council policies and procedures.
- Ensure airport operational documentation is current and maintained to regulatory and organisational standards.
