Position Type: Permanent Full Time (9 day fortnight, 38 hours/week)

Salary Range: Base Salary $36.55 per hour + super, plus overtime and penalty rates dependent on work performed. Additional entitlements and overtime do not form part of the advertised base salary

Progression to higher salary rates is subject to time in the role, qualifications and demonstrated performance outcomes and range from $37.54 - $39.54 per hour.

We’re looking for a Crew Leader for our civil construction team who can run crews’ day to day and make sure jobs are done safely, on time and to standard. You’ll be organising daily work, keeping teams moving across different sites, checking quality, and sorting problems before they turn into delays. You’ll keep an eye on time, costs and service levels, report anything that’s off track, and adjust work plans when needed.

You’ll support your crew on the ground by showing them how the job should be done, making sure safety rules are followed, and stepping in when standards slip. You’ll make sure traffic control is set up properly, worksites are safe, audits and checks are completed, and WH&S requirements are met. You’ll deal with customer questions politely to keep things running smoothly.

Qualifications And Experience

Mandatory

  • Certificate III in Civil Construction or substantial experience in a similar role.
  • Construction Industry White Card (30215 QLD)
  • Current ‘MR’ Class Driver's Licence.
  • Traffic Management Implementation (TMI) accreditation under the Manual of Uniform Traffic Control Devices.
  • Demonstrated commitment to and practice of a leadership style that supports, motivates and inspires individual and team achievements.
  • Experience leading construction personnel in the construction of municipal infrastructure.
  • Experience in the construction of Council infrastructure including a detailed knowledge of construction materials and their application.

Desirable

  • Certificate associated with the successful completion of the Safe Working Near Live Exposed Parts training course.
