Asset System Officer

The Position
Fairfield City Council is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Asset Systems Officer to support the management, valuation, maintenance, and reporting of infrastructure assets.
Working within the Asset Management division, this role plays a key part in ensuring accurate, reliable, and auditable asset data to support operational, financial, and strategic decision-making.
You’ll collaborate with asset, finance, engineering, and project delivery teams to support lifecycle asset management, renewal planning, and compliance reporting.
About You
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- Tertiary qualification in Civil Engineering, Asset Management, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- Experience with asset systems, databases, and maintenance systems
- Experience in asset capitalisation and valuation (AASB 13 & 116)
- Strong asset data management, analysis, and reporting skills
- GIS experience (e.g. ESRI, MapInfo)
- Knowledge of infrastructure maintenance and renewal planning
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills
- Current Class C Driver’s Licence
Salary & Employment Conditions
- Permanent full-time position, working 35 hours per week
- This position is a Grade 5, with a salary range starting from $86,482 p.a. up to $93,133 p.a. on demonstrated competencies, with further performance-based progression available up to $101,305 p.a., plus superannuation
- A motor vehicle benefit is available
