Role Description/Criteria

St Columba’s College is a contemporary Catholic secondary school committed to fostering excellence in learning, wellbeing and personal growth. An exciting opportunity exists for an experienced and proactive Safety, Risk and Compliance Officer to join our Business and Operations Team. This role plays a critical part in supporting the College's commitment to providing a safe, compliant and well-managed environment for students, staff and visitors through the effective coordination of workplace safety, risk management and compliance systems. This is a full time ongoing position to commence as soon as possible. As the Safety, Risk and Compliance Officer, you will:

  • Coordinate and support the College's workplace health and safety framework.
  • Maintain the College Risk Register and support risk management processes across all areas of the College.
  • Monitor compliance obligations and assist with policy, audit and regulatory requirements.
  • Coordinate incident, hazard and injury reporting and ensure appropriate follow-up actions are implemented.
  • Support emergency management planning, workplace inspections and safety initiatives.
  • Provide reporting, data analysis and recommendations to support continuous improvement.

We are looking for someone who has:

  • A genuine commitment to workplace safety, wellbeing and continuous improvement.
  • Experience in workplace health and safety, risk management, compliance or a related field.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build positive relationships across a diverse school community.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to prepare reports and maintain accurate documentation.
