RPS has an established client-side project management consulting business in Australia Asia Pacific, with over 400 project management staff. The RPS Project Management team in Alice Springs currently consists of seven team members and is continuing to grow. We have a strong workbook for 2026 and beyond, with key long-term projects in delivery underwriting our business.

About The Role

As Practice Lead, you’ll oversee the development and delivery of the Alice Springs business plan. You’ll be responsible for strategic leadership, client relationship management, financial performance, and team capability development and recruitment. Reporting to the General Manager and part of the NT leadership team, you’ll ensure high-quality, profitable project outcomes aligned with RPS's national and global strategy.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead, manage, and grow the Alice Springs Project Management practice
  • Drive business development and client engagement initiatives
  • Deliver Alice Springs projects as RPS’ Project Director
  • Oversee financial performance and project profitability
  • Ensure timely, high-quality project delivery across a diverse portfolio
  • Foster a collaborative and empowered team culture
  • Guide project planning, procurement, and resourcing strategies
  • Mentor, develop and recruit staff

About You

  • You will hold a tertiary qualification in project management, architecture, engineering, construction management or similar; and have:
  • 15+ years of construction and/or project management experience
  • Demonstrated recent experience in a client-side, contractor or design consultant key leadership role in delivering large-scale, infrastructure, complex building and property projects $100M+
  • Proven track record in project and/or people leadership of a team
  • Business development, strategic client engagement and securing new work
  • Financial management, responsible for P&L and reporting
  • Deep understanding of contemporary construction, engineering, and project delivery methodologies
  • Experience in contract management
  • Strong communication, negotiation, and presentation skills
  • Eligible for Australian Government Baseline Security Clearance is essential with current NV1 Clearance or higher would be viewed favourably
  • AIPM Certified Practising Project Director certification or equivalent would be viewed favourably.
