As The Clinical Nurse Specialist, You Will

  • Provide leadership, advice, coordination, planning, review, and assessment of all aspects of clinical delivery to ensure the safety and well-being of residents and staff.
  • Facilitate ongoing education and training for personal care workers, enrolled nurses, and registered nurses. The key focus of this role is expanding clinical leadership coverage, providing oversight across a range of shifts, including some afternoon and weekend shifts.

Key Responsibilities

  • Leading a team of care staff to ensure the highest standards of care are delivered.
  • Managing staff performance, including conducting regular performance reviews and providing support for ongoing development.
  • Providing high-quality medical care, including assessing residents’ health conditions, monitoring vital signs, and managing medications and treatments.
  • Developing and implementing individualised care plans based on residents’ specific needs and conditions.
  • Conducting thorough health assessments and maintaining accurate medical records.
  • Responding to medical emergencies and coordinating appropriate care.

Key Requirements

  • Bachelor of Nursing with current unrestricted AHPRA registration.
  • Current valid First Aid and CPR Certificates.
  • Maintain up to date professional and ethical practice in the provision of aged care services and infection control in line with legal and AHPRA requirements and the Nurses Code of Conduct.
  • Valid and current Police Certificate.
  • Experience in Aged Care and willingness to undertake on-going mandatory training.
  • Developing, reviewing and maintaining care plans and other health records.
  • Demonstrated up-to-date knowledge and skills in aged care services together with knowledge and understanding of the Aged Care Standards and accreditation process.
  • Demonstrated understanding of infection control, and the ability to comply with the requirements of WHS and safe work practises and related procedures.
  • Demonstrated ability to delegate effectively and to stay informed of process.
  • High level of organisational skills with the ability to prioritise and manage multiple tasks.
