A collaborative and forward-thinking Managed Service Provider based in Brisbane CBD is seeking an experienced Level 3 Senior Infrastructure Engineer to join their growing technical team.

This is a hands-on senior engineering and advisory role suited to someone who thrives in complex environments, enjoys solving deep technical problems, and can operate as a trusted technical point of escalation while also contributing to solution design, project delivery, and infrastructure improvements.

You will work across Microsoft cloud, networking, and security domains, supporting both BAU escalations and project-based delivery across enterprise customer environments.

WHAT WILL YOU BE DOING?

As a Senior Infrastructure Engineer, you will operate as a senior technical escalation point and hands-on delivery engineer across Microsoft, networking, and security environments.

You will also contribute to infrastructure design discussions, cloud and network transformations, and customer-facing technical engagement where required.

You will:

Lead and support Microsoft 365 and Azure infrastructure projects across enterprise environments
Deliver and maintain secure Azure environments, including migrations and hybrid integration
Design, deploy, and support firewall environments including Fortinet, Palo Alto, Check Point, Cisco, and Juniper SRX
Configure and manage IPsec VPN tunnels and secure connectivity solutions
Support and troubleshoot DNS, DHCP, routing, switching, and core network services
Work across enterprise switching platforms including Cisco, Aruba, HPE, Dell, and FortiSwitch
Participate in cloud migration projects across Microsoft workloads and identity services
Use scripting and automation (PowerShell and/or Python) to improve efficiency and reduce manual effort
Operate within structured ITIL-based service management environments
Work with PSA/RMM tools such as Autotask, N-Central, and ConnectWise
Act as a senior escalation point for complex incidents and problem resolution
Mentor junior engineers and contribute to technical documentation and standards

This role balances hands-on engineering, project delivery, and senior-level escalation support within a fast-paced MSP environment.

WE NEED YOU TO HAVE…..

5+ years’ experience within an MSP or similar managed services environment
Strong experience across Microsoft 365 and Azure infrastructure
CCNA certification or equivalent networking capability
Strong experience with firewall deployment and configuration (Fortinet, Palo Alto, Check Point, Cisco, or Juniper)
Solid understanding of IPsec VPNs, DNS, DHCP, and core networking principles
Experience with enterprise switching environments (Cisco, Aruba, HPE, Dell, FortiSwitch or similar)
Proven experience delivering cloud migrations and infrastructure projects
Strong scripting and automation capability (PowerShell and/or Python)
Experience working within ITIL-aligned service environments
Strong communication skills and ability to engage with technical and non-technical stakeholders

IT’S NICE TO HAVE…..

Microsoft Azure or Microsoft 365 certifications
Networking certifications beyond CCNA
Experience leading technical workshops or client solution discussions
Exposure to pre-sales, solution design, or technical scoping activities
