About the opportunity

The John Walsh Centre for Rehabilitation Research is seeking a Senior Research Fellow to play a key role in the analysis and dissemination of data from the SCI-MT Trial, a major international study investigating intensive motor training for people with spinal cord injury (SCI).

In this role, you will lead the analysis and publication of physiotherapy-related data collected as part of the trial and contribute to the ongoing development and expansion of content for Physiotherapy Exercises (PTX), an internationally recognised online resource.

  • Contribute to the design, development, and dissemination of content for PTX

  • Support the preparation of competitive grant applications and research proposals

  • Translate research findings into outputs that inform clinical practice and policy

  • Supervise and mentor early- and mid-career researchers and students

  • Contribute to the Centre’s research leadership, governance, and strategic priorities

  • Build and maintain effective collaborations with academic, clinical, and community stakeholders

About you

  • Registered physiotherapist (or eligible for registration in NSW)

  • PhD in physiotherapy, spinal cord injury, or a closely related field

  • Familiarity with, or the ability to rapidly develop expertise in, online exercise platforms such as Physiotherapy Exercises (PTX)

  • Demonstrated experience in research relating to spinal cord injury and physiotherapy
