Our client is a well-established and highly respected specialist Dermatology practice located on Wickham Terrace, Brisbane. They are currently seeking an experienced
Medical Receptionist/Secretary to join their team on a permanent part-time basis, working 3 days per week (Wednesday to Friday). The successful candidate will be required to work a variety of rostered hours between 7:45am and 5:00pm and demonstrate flexibility to meet the needs of the practice.
Supporting a team of Dermatologists, you will play a key role in the day-to-day operation of busy specialist clinics, providing exceptional patient service and administrative support. Experience with Xestro software will be highly regarded as the practice transitions to this platform.
The practice offers a comprehensive range of dermatological services, including medical and surgical dermatology, skin cancer assessments and treatments, laser therapies, allergy testing and a variety of specialised skin treatments. Your day-to-day responsibilities will include (but not be limited to):
- Managing patient appointments and handling all incoming telephone enquiries in a professional and courteous manner
- Coordinating appointment confirmations and follow-up communications with patients
- Preparing and managing specialist clinics, including welcoming and arriving patients using the practice management system
- Billing and receipting patient consultations and processing payments accurately
- Assisting patients with general enquiries and providing exceptional customer service
- Typing and preparing medical correspondence and clinical documentation
- Diary management for multiple Specialists within the practice
- Providing general administrative support to the Practice Coordinator and assisting with ad hoc projects as required
- Maintaining accurate patient records and ensuring confidentiality is upheld at all times
- Contributing to the smooth and efficient day-to-day operation of the practice
To be closely considered for this position, you will have:
- Previous experience of at least 2 years working within a private specialist practice in a similar position
- Experience using medical software platforms (any experience using Xestro software will be viewed favourably)
- Clear communication and interpersonal skills
- Immaculate personal presentation
- The ability to work effectively and cohesively within a high functioning team environment
- Enjoy taking ownership and responsibility for your work and seeing a task through to completion
- Strong organisational and time management skills
Remuneration
A generous hourly rate will be offered to a suitably experienced candidate, commensurate with their skills and experience. Conveniently located in Spring Hill, the practice is highly accessible via public transport, with Central Station situated directly across the road and access to the free Spring Hill Loop Bus service nearby.
