The Red Lily Health Board Aboriginal Corporation (RLHB) is a regional health service committed to empowering Aboriginal people across West Arnhem. We deliver culturally safe, community-controlled healthcare to improve long-term health outcomes for children, families, and communities.
About Gunbalanya
Gunbalanya is located approximately 300km east of Darwin and 60km north-east of Jabiru, across the East Alligator River in Arnhem Land. It is a major Aboriginal community with a range of local services, including a school (pre-school to Year 12), service station, convenience store, supermarket, police station, crèche, aged care services, sports and social club, butcher, and community arts centre. The community also offers shared facilities such as a 25-metre swimming pool, sports ovals, youth centre, and basketball courts.
What You’ll Do
- Deliver comprehensive care to infants, children, and adolescents
- Lead child health programs including health checks, immunisation, and screening
- Coordinate school health and community-based programs
- Work closely with Aboriginal Health Practitioners and multidisciplinary teams
- Support prevention, early intervention, and continuity of care
- Contribute to quality improvement, reporting, and service planning.
What We’re Looking For
- Current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse
- Strong clinical experience in child and youth health
- Understanding of Aboriginal health and culturally safe practice
- Experience in primary health care and/or remote settings
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- Ability to work independently and adapt in a remote environment.
Desirable
- Postgraduate qualifications in Child Health or related fields
- Experience as a Remote Area Nurse
- Background in Aboriginal community-controlled health services
- Experience in education, program delivery, or workforce development
