The Department of Treasury and Finance is at the centre of Government decision-making. As the principal economic and financial advisor, we provide leadership and strategic advice and influence to support the delivery of services and outcomes for the benefit of Western Australia.

What we do is integral to the Government’s decision-making processes about where and how to spend taxpayer’s money to ensure Western Australians have access to quality services on a financially sustainable basis.

We lead procurement and leverage our buying power to secure products and services for government, achieving value for money for WA.

We collect revenue to fund government services and administer payment of grants and subsidies to the WA community.

The work area

These roles sit within the Finance and Procurement Services Directorate which is part of the Corporate Strategy and Performance business unit.

The Finance and Procurement Services team oversees the financial management, procurement and contract management activities for the Department of Treasury and Finance, in the key areas of:

  • coordinating and preparing statutory financial reports and taxation requirements;
  • developing and managing the internal budget, along with providing strategic financial advice and timely management reporting to the Executive and leadership teams;
  • procurement and contract support in development, facilitation and contract management;
  • managing core financial operations such as accounts payable, accounts receivable and corporate purchasing cards; and
  • facilitating training and information sharing sessions on all financial and procurement matters.

The opportunity

We are looking for a motivated and enthusiastic procurement professional to join us!!

As Manager Enterprise Procurement, you will play a pivotal role in guiding complex, high-risk procurement activities that directly influence outcomes delivered across the Department.

The role works at a strategic level and engages in procurement planning, formation, and contract management activities. You will interpret and apply procurement policy, champion better practice, and partner with stakeholders to design contracts that are robust, compliant, and aligned to departmental needs.

In the role of Manager Enterprise Procurement you will:

  • Provide professional procurement advice to stakeholders and develop and/or manage medium- to high-risk contracts. This involves developing strategic reviews, procurement plans, tender documents and evaluation reports, and contract management plans.
  • Provide expert support and advice for all types of procurement, maintain positive and effective stakeholder relationships, and work closely with internal and external stakeholders to promote compliance with the Department’s standards, processes, and procedures.

We currently have one (1) fixed term position available for filling for up to twelve (12) months with the possibility of further extension(s) and/or permanency.
