Where you'll be working

You will be working within the Cardiac Catheter Laboratory at Northern Beaches Hospital (NBH), a fast-paced and highly specialised procedural environment delivering contemporary diagnostic and interventional cardiac services to the Northern Beaches community. As part of a skilled multidisciplinary team, you will provide care to patients undergoing a broad range of cardiac procedures, contributing to a culture of clinical excellence, teamwork, innovation and patient-centred care.

What You'll Be Doing

The Registered Nurse – Cardiac Catheter Laboratory is responsible for delivering safe, evidence-based and patient-centred nursing care within a dynamic interventional cardiology environment at NBH. Working collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team, the RN will provide comprehensive peri-procedural care for patients undergoing diagnostic and interventional cardiac procedures, ensuring high standards of clinical practice, patient safety and quality outcomes.

The role contributes to service excellence through participation in quality improvement initiatives, education, research and accreditation activities, while maintaining professional competency standards and compliance with NSW Health and NSLHD policies and procedures. The RN will support a culture of continuous learning, teamwork and innovation, contributing to the efficient operation of the Cardiac Cath Lab and the delivery of exceptional patient experiences.

About The Role

Scrub/scout for angiography procedures, including coronary angiograms +/- PCI, cardiac electrophysiological studies +/- catheter ablations, interventional radiology, and cardiac device implantation.

Provide pre- and post-procedure care.

Participate in on-call opportunities.

Perform anaesthetic nursing duties and administer IV sedation.

Monitor and ensure the availability of supplies and equipment, including preparation and setup for procedures.

Candidates Will Need To Meet The Following Criteria

  • Registered Nurse - Division 1 with Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
  • Demonstrated recent experience working within a Cardiac Catheter Laboratory or interventional cardiology environment.
  • Demonstrated advanced clinical knowledge, critical thinking and problem-solving skills relevant to cardiac catheterisation and interventional procedures, with the ability to deliver safe, high-quality patient-centred care in a fast-paced acute setting.
  • Proven ability to work effectively and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary Cath Lab team, with highly developed interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrated commitment to professional accountability, evidence-based practice and ongoing professional development, while consistently displaying the organisation’s CORE Values of Collaboration, Openness, Respect and Empowerment.
