- Manage end-to-end payroll processing across a portfolio of clients, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and legislative compliance
- Interpret and apply Awards, EBAs, and relevant payroll regulations across diverse client requirements
- Complete payroll reconciliations, reporting, and post-payroll activities including EOM and general ledger processes
- Act as the key point of contact for clients, building strong relationships and delivering exceptional service
- Proactively identify opportunities to improve processes and client outcomes
- Provide expert payroll advice to clients and internal stakeholders on legislation, systems, and best practice
- Maintain accurate records and ensure compliance with data security standards
- Support onboarding of new clients and contribute to payroll transitions
- Assist with escalation management, complex queries, and mentoring junior team members
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives, including automation and system enhancements
What you'll need to succeed
- Demonstrated experience in end-to-end payroll, ideally within a high-volume or multi-client environment
- Strong understanding of Australian payroll legislation (PAYG, Super, Payroll Tax, Fair Work)
- Proven experience interpreting Awards and EBAs
- Advanced Excel skills and strong analytical capability
- High attention to detail with a commitment to accuracy and compliance
- Ability to manage multiple payrolls and competing deadlines
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
- Customer-focused mindset with the ability to build trusted relationships
