This is an opportunity to join a sophisticated global financial services business in a senior, highly visible and business-critical Senior In-house Legal role. You will work closely with the Head of Legal, playing a key role influencing business decisions, driving strategic initiatives and navigating complex legal and regulatory landscapes within a fast-moving international environment.

The Opportunity

This is a broad and dynamic role combining strategic project work with day-to-day commercial and financial services regulatory advisory responsibilities across the APAC region.

Your work will include:

• Leading complex commercial contract negotiations
• Advising on corporate transactions and M&A
• Advising on regulatory compliance matters
• Advising on Corporations Act
• Supporting technology, SaaS and fintech-related initiatives
• Advising on new product launches and strategic business projects
• Data privacy, HR, IT and marketing matters
• Disputes
• Managing and overseeing external counsel
• Delivering commercially pragmatic legal advice to senior stakeholders across the region
• Mentoring and supervising junior lawyers within the team
• Providing training / presentations to the business on legal issues

About You

You will be a technically strong and commercially astute senior lawyer with circa 10-15 years’ PQE, gained within a leading law firm and/or sophisticated in-house environment.

As the successful candidate, you will bring:

• Strong corporate/commercial legal capability
• Experience within financial services, regulatory, FinTech and/or technology sectors
• Sharp technical skills paired with strong commercial judgment
• The confidence to engage with senior stakeholders and influence decision-making
• A pragmatic, solutions-focused approach
• An entrepreneurial mindset and desire to work closely with the business
