Legal Counsel

Company Overview

A large, established financial services organisation with strong governance practices and a mature in‑house legal function.

Role Overview

This contract role supports the business across a mix of commercial, corporate and governance matters, working closely with senior stakeholders. Sits in the office of the General Counsel, with international exposure.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide legal advice on commercial, corporate and governance issues
• Draft, review, and negotiate contracts and legal documents
• Support Board and Committee governance requirements
• Monitor regulatory and legislative developments
• Manage external counsel
• Assist on disputes and complex legal matters
• Mentor junior team members as required

Skills & Experience

• 7-10 yrs PQE
• Strong commercial, corporate and governance background,
• Experience in financial services or another highly regulated environment essential
• Confident stakeholder engagement and advisory capability
• Australian legal qualifications
