Construction

CPP is Australia’s leading provider of end-to-end substation solutions for utilities and the renewable energy sector, delivering design, installation, and maintenance services up to 500kV. Specialising in both greenfield and brownfield projects, we have successfully delivered over 100 HV substations nationwide.

As the country’s most experienced contractor in Balance of Plant (BoP) services, we have connected more wind farms and battery storage systems (BESS) to the grid than any other provider. Our one-stop-shop approach covering design, civil, manufacturing, electrical works, grid connection, and commissioning, ensures seamless project delivery.

The Opportunity

In line with our growth and upcoming projects, we are seeking a Senior Project Manager who will be responsible for the successful delivery of large scale complicated high voltage infrastructure projects circa $100 million and over. The portfolio of works includes the delivery of greenfield and brownfield substations, BESS and data centres.

Reporting to the Program Manager of our Victorian Operations in Doncaster, you will be responsible for providing end to end project management and technical leadership during the project life cycle to successfully deliver projects that contribute to Australia’s renewable energy future. As a natural leader you will manage a dynamic project team to successfully achieve profitability of projects through reaching time, cost and quality targets.

In This Role You Will

  • Execute all Project specific plans in line with PMBOK principles
  • Control project programming, cost, time, quality, purchasing, contract administration, general site administration and the activities of sub-contractors.
  • Authorise construction planning, programming, and on-site completion schedules.
  • Liaise with the Construction Manager / Supervisor regularly to monitor project progress and manage issues as they arise.
  • Monitor and manage project costs and forecasts to budget. Take corrective action early and report on a timely basis

About You

Desired Skills and Experience

To Be Successful In This Role, You Will Possess

  • Extensive experience in delivering high value ($50m or higher) projects in a high voltage environment (substations, BESS and data centres highly regarded)
  • Strong in project delivery and advanced communication skills
  • Ability to plan, monitor and control project activities with a focus on client requirements, productivity, cost, and quality
  • High-level business and commercial acumen
  • Experience in renewables or high-voltage would be highly regarded
  • Tertiary Qualifications in Electrical Engineering will be highly advantageous
  • Flexibility to travel as required
