Our client is an established leader in the construction industry who are known for their high-quality practices. They are now seeking an experienced Building Services Coordinator/Engineer or Mechanical Engineer to join their growing construction business.

Our client’s project portfolio includes work in the corporate, hospitality and government sectors to name a few and projects will be from smaller up to about $100m+.

As Building Services Engineer / Mechanical Engineer, you will provide support, advise and consult on the technical aspects of the design and installation of building services from pre-construction, commissioning and hand over. You will be assisting and reporting into a Building Services Manager.

You will be working out of head office with some site visit. Candidates can come from head contracting, subcontracting or consultancy side. Will need to have excellent communication skills and stakeholder management skills. Can be either Mechanical or Electrical biased

Responsibilities include but are not limited to

  • Lead the coordination of services with the project team
  • Manage weekly site meetings of all services sub-contractors
  • Monitor, review and comment on services drawings
  • Propose and investigate alternative services designs and/or installation methods
  • Assist the project team with detailed planning of project specific risk assessments
  • Ensure safety compliance on all projects
  • Identify critical hold points

Qualifications and Requirements

  • Tertiary qualification in Mechanical Engineering, Construction, Engineering or Science or Services related qualification with additional experience to equate to degree
  • Circa 5yrs+ experience in a similar role within the construction industry
  • Construction Safety Induction White Card
  • Proven expertise in services installation and management in the construction process
  • Proven knowledge of relevant codes, standards, internal policies and contracts
  • Detailed knowledge of local council and regulatory requirements and standards
  • Proficient construction planning and programming skills
  • Strong leadership capability
  • Ability to communicate effectively
